The Memphis in May celebration is hosting a month-long salute to Tunisia. Dignitaries from Tunisia’s Ministry of Industry, celebrity Chef Rafik Tlatli, and now 100% Tunisian Olive Oil spokesperson Bill Sanders and I will make the scene from the rooftop of the Madison Hotel in downtown Memphis.
The event is titled Tunisia Olive Oil Tasting (hence our appearance), and includes a menu coordinated by Josh Spotts of the Madison Hotel. The Madison boasts ‘the hottest music, the coolest drinks, the finest tapas, and the best river sunset views in downtown Memphis.’ Our event will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 PM on the Madison’s rooftop, and features a sampling menu inspired by the cuisine of Tunisia. Items include Mediterranean wines, mirqāz (merguez) a traditional spicy lamb sausage, brik which is a fried delicacy with a surprise in the middle (we’ll see how our new friends in Memphis react), calamari, falafel with harissa, and lamb sliders–an interesting cultural blend.
Admission for the event is only $35 per person, and reservations can be made by contacting the Madison Hotel at (901) 333-1224 or by visiting www.Grill83.com. We hope to see you there!
